Adding to your Bucket!

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to post this up, i found it very interesting...I found it on Lance Armstrong's site, called, www.livestrong.com. Not to be confusing, but really, diet and exercise are two separate things, just as Chiropractic is separate from each one of those. Sometimes I hear, "Well, i exercise, so i don't need to see a Chiropractor...WRONG!"

Health works like a bucket, for each good thing you do to help your body, such as getting adjusted regularly, eating a clean balanced diet, exercising, these things add to your bucket, and keep it full. That's good!

In the opposite, we have drinking beer, eating Twinkies, and taking medications (which only cover up symptoms and do nothing for the problem) and these things take away from your bucket...however, below are some things that "add" to your bucket...

Your metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. According to the Mayo Clinic, how fast yours works depends on genetics, gender--men tend to have faster metabolisms than women--and your age. There isn’t a lot you can do to change any of these factors, but there are some natural and easy ways to give your metabolism either a temporary or more long-term boost.
Step 1

Break the fast. You’ve probably heard it said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and, when it comes to boosting your metabolism, it’s true. By morning--after quite a few hours of not eating--your body is running low on fuel and is operating in starvation mode. This means it has slowed down the processes that burn calories, such as digestion, so it can save energy to keep you alive, says the Mayo Clinic. A healthy breakfast is the kick-start your body needs to get the metabolism back up to speed and reassure your system that fuel is in plentiful supply. For the same reason, try not to go for long periods of time without eating during the day. Eating small portions of food, or healthy snacks, regularly ensures your body has a constant source of energy and keeps your metabolism in a continuous working state, says WebMD.com.

Step 2

Put more protein on your plate. It takes around double the amount of energy for your body to digest protein as it does to process carbohydrates, says WebMD. So to keep your metabolism working and burning those calories, ensure your diet includes protein-packed foods, such as lean meat, fish, tofu, nuts and beans. However, be sure to maintain a balance of healthy carbs too.

Step 3

Lift weights. According to WebMD.com, every pound of muscle in your body uses about six calories a day, whereas one pound of fat burns two calories a day. So, by building your muscles through weight training, and reducing body fat, you can speed up your metabolism. MedicineNet.com advises speaking to your doctor before taking on a new weights program; to get maximum results, have a personal trainer create a weights workout specifically for you.

Step 4

Spice things up. If you’ve ever had a mouthful of chili, you’ll know how hard you have to work to cool your mouth down. According to WebMD, your metabolism is working just as hard on the inside to combat the chemical compounds in hot foods that raise your body temperature. And while WebMD says that the effects of a curry or fajita may only be temporary, regularly adding some spice to your meals may cause the effects to last longer.

How to pick the right Chiropractor for you...

I saw this heading the other day, and once I read the article it made me a bit ill. See, there are alot of different ideas on Chiropractic care...while some more medical Chiropractors help more with pain relief, while using lasers, hot packs, stim machines, ultrasounds, and all kinds of gadgets, OTHER more "principled" Chiropractors stick with the basics....adjusting the spine.

See, Chiropractic works on the philosophy that the one who made the body-heals the body. Now, if your a Christian, and I hope you are, you believe that we all have a spirit, it's in our brain. That's when you hear a doctor say, "He's brain dead" he's really saying, the spirit is gone....means the same thing.....he/she is dead.

Now that the gruesome part is over, let's talk about a "live" person....A live person has this "spirit" inside of that controls everything....the technical name for this is autonomic nervous system, (controls heart rate, blood pressure, lung function)-pretty much everything our bodies do automatically.

Now, the way these signals are sent is from the brain, down to the rest of the body through the nerves. It's simple anatomy. Now, how important would it be to you if these nerves weren't pinched off? I would hope very important.

Here's the thing though.....what makes Chiropractic so cool is that if you get checked on a weekly basis, and make sure that your nervous system is healthy, your going to increase your whole body's ability to function correctly, making it very easy for your nervous system -which includes the nervous system- to keep your body healthy.

So, the point is to ward off sickness....wouldn't it be cool to keep yourself and your family at your best year round?

That's why Chiropractic is not really about "neck pain" or "back pain"...will it help with that stuff? SURE! And that's usually one of our first goals...if your in pain, we want to help!

Now, instead of paying 50-120 to get adjusted, we offer plans as low as $49.00 a month. However, we are only accepting so many practice members for this membership deal. After this, we you will be put on a waiting list. Don't wait around. Experience good health starting now. Go to www.lobaczchiropractic.com and check us out. When you call, mention that you were on our website, and get our "new patient" special for $37.00. We'll see you soon!

I made my friend mad...

This weekend I made one of my friends (a friend from my Chiropractic class) very mad at me. The reason is that she was upset that the President isn't planning on incorporating Chiropractic into the new budget. Also, the fact that he wants to take out Physician off of our licenses. Can you feel the ego? She thinks that because she paid the money to be a Chiropractor, that she deserves to be called Doctor.

My opinion, i could care less. I think most Chiropractors would abuse this system anyway. This is why your insurance sucks for Chiropractic anyway...cause of the abuse in the past..as far as being called Dr? I could care less, just call me Andrew.

Lets say for a minute I get shot, please, and I repeat PLEASE TAKE ME TO A M.D. Not a Chiropractor playing medical doctor.

See, I think Medical Doctors are needed. No doubt about it.

however,

Medicine (as a whole) will never ever ever accept Chiropractic. We are the Red Headed step-children. Chiropractors have made their own bed...they think that difference is good within the profession.....well they are wrong. Let me explain...some chiropractors go to school after they get their D.C. (doctor of Chiropractic) to get more letters after their name... DACCI i think is the latest one....the CI refers to chiropractic internist.... These fools go to school for like 3 more years to do the same thing after they get done...they can never really get a prescription pad....they can only adjust...

They have this idea that the more medical we are the more we will be accepted. The truth is its just more letters behind your name, and it costs more money... amazing.

Now, as far as Chiropractors go, if you are not in my area, go see a Principled Chiropractor. Call their office and say, is the Chiropractor Principled? IF they say....huh? Hang up and call the next number in the phone book.

In Principled Chiropractic work, all things going on, neck pain, low back pain, cancer, heart disease...is all the same to us, nerve interference. We are not there to diagnose this stuff, we are there to adjust your spine. If this stuff goes away, GREAT!

You don't need hot packs and traction machines, and tens units, cold lasers, when you go to the Chiropractor. All gimmicky crap.

My point is, if your a Chiropractor be a Chiropractor. Don't try to be an MD with people. Most people already have an MD, and don't need another one. The only real Chiropractor out there is a Principled Chiropractor.

Principled Chiropractor take care of people like they take care of their families. We take care of you no matter what, race, color, financial ability, it doesn't matter. You want to know more about my office, check us out at www.lobaczchiropractic.com
